    NT on Mac VMware Problem

All I am running Windows 7 x64 on my mac with VMWare Fusion 4. Both systems run fine and I have plenty memory.

NT has downloaded and installed however whenever I run it it crashes out immediately after the splash screen exits.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Hello fawaleb,

    Thank you for your note.

We have specific instructions for VMWare:
    1. Start VMWare and select your virtual machine
    2. Press the "Settings" button on the bottom
    3. Under "System Settings", select "Sharing"
    4. Uncheck "Documents" from the "Mirrored Folders" list
    5. Close the "Settings" window and start the virtual machine

After making this change, please reinstall NinjaTrader once more and check to see if the issue persists.

How much ram are you allocating to VMWare and why are you running NT 7 under 64 bits?

I've been running it since version 2 without issues from windows XP to windows 7.
What version of Mac OS are you using? Mac OS 10.6.x - 10.7.x can do 64 bit IF you are running the mac kernel under 64 bits.

Otherwise, it's 32 bits so use windows 7 32 bits instead. Check your memory allocation as well.

I am having a similar problem. I have shared folders disabled in vmware fusion and tried reinstalling but I still get an error on program start. I am running vmware fusion on 7.1.2 on OSX Yosemite 10.10.3 running windows 7 with 2gb of ram. All my other windows programs run fine. Any ideas?

            Hello,

            Thank you for your post.

Due to a requirement of NinjaTrader's database, we will need to uninstall NinjaTrader and change VMWare so as to disable the folder linking between the Mac OS file system and the Windows Documents folder.

Please start by removing NinjaTrader via the Windows Control Panel.

After removing NinjaTrader, please take the following steps to reconfigureVMWare :

            1.
            1. Start VMWare and select your virtual machine
            2. Press the "Settings" button on the bottom
            3. Under "System Settings", select "Sharing"
            4. Uncheck "Documents" from the "Mirrored Folders" list
            5. Close the "Settings" window and start the virtual machine

Finally, reinstall NinjaTrader via this link: http://ninjatrader.com/GetStarted

After reinstalling, you should be able to use NinjaTrader however if you run in to any other errors when starting the software please let me know.

                Hello,

Please contact me by email at PlatformSupport [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com. In the message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of today's trace file.

The file is located in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder. I would need the 'trace.20150805.txt' file.
