    eSignal Data Falling Behind

    I am looking at data from eSignal in an NT chart, and then data in IB's TWS, and NT/eSignal is clearly lagging and not catching up. Is this a common occurrence with eSignal? Is there a way to prevent or detect when this may have occurred in an automated strategy (which obviously requires data to be as real-time as possible)?

    Can you please check the time stamp in the time and sales window for the ES 12-11. How far is it lagging behind compared to time stamp on your PC clock?

      I had already disconnected and never got an actual time delta, but from just watching it for a few minutes, I'd say it was somewhere between 30 and 90 seconds behind and the lag appeared to be consistent (i.e. was not getting better or worse).

        Please close NinjaTrader and sync your PC clock by double clicking on the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop. Once you have done that, click on Internet Time tab-->Change Settings-->Select time.nist.gov from the drop down menu and then click Update.

        The PC clock should now be updated and you may restart NinjaTrader.

          I went ahead and did that (it was already set to synch with time.windows.com), but I don't see how that could be the issue. Doesn't NT just display the data as received from the data provider as efficiently as it can? Why would eSignal or NT queue data based on the time settings of my internal PC clock?

            If the local PC clock is not in synced this can cause issues with lagging data. Please let me know if the data continues to lag after this procedure.
