    Custom index

    Hi NT

Is there a way to create a custom index?

I have about 25 stocks that I want to make an equal weighted index of, i.e. I want to make my own S&P 25 index rather than the S&P 500.

Is that possible and if yes - how?

    Thanks

    Hello rassom,

    Thanks for your post.

This is something which you could achieve through custom coding. If you are not a programmer yourself, any of the NinjaScript consultants listed at the following link could code this type of project for you: http://www.ninjatrader.com/partners....pt-Consultants

      Thanks

I am sure I am not the first who want to do this or something similar and having someone program it for me seems an expensive option.

Is there a place where one can download (or maybe buy) NinjaTrader custom indicators that have already been made?

      Thanks

PS. In this post http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...t=custom+index, it is mentioned that NT 7 will offer "MultiSeries". Would this be useful for my purpose and if yes, how ?

The Multi Series chart will display multiple instruments within the same chart window however this will not calculate a ratio of the two or more instruments.

You may download free indicators within the NinjaScript File Sharing section of the Support Forum.

You may also purchase indicators from any of our 3rd Party Add-on partners at the link below.

Yes. You would have to add a BarSeries for each instrument that you want in the index. That will make their prices available.

Then code the weighting calculations of the index however you wish.

              Hi Chris,

I found something called "Index" in the file section (v7 indicators) that looks like it will do what I want.

              Thanks

              Rasmus
