Multiple timeframes

Hello.

I would like to show the candlesticks of a 1minute and 5minute chart in one panel in one chart. To do that I simply create two Data Series in the same chart and in the same panel. To differentiate the two, I give slightly different green and reddish colors to one of the Data Series. No problem up to here.

Now ... 5 candlesticks from the 1-minute chart make up 1 candlestick of the 5-minute chart. I want all 5 candlesticks to be exactly inside that 1 candlestick of the 5-minute chart. But no matter what width for the bars I chose I can never make it match exactly.

How can I make this work?

Thanks for posting.

Have you tried the 'Box' bar display? It should meet your needs perfectly here.
Please apply that display type to the 5 minute series via the Data Series menu's 'Chart Style' property.

That works nicely in that the 5 candlesticks are exactly in that 5-minute 'box' as a chart style. Unfortunately the 'box' goes from low to high and does not indicate opening and closing prices; in other words it is not the same as a candlestick which shows all 4 prices.

Is there a way to tweak the Data Series of the 5-minute candlestick so it shows up in the same way as the 'box' with all 5 of the 1-minute candles being inside of it?

Unfortunately, that's not something that is possible currently but I will forward the suggestion on to development.
