Definitely, there's an in build backup tool under File > Utilities > BackUp / Restore.

In addition to that, you can also just copy the Documents > NinjaTrader7 folder contents to external drive / usb stick for another layer of protection.

I didn´t do any Parallels update and never got notified of anything, so really not sure.

Thankfully its started and all OK now though, thanks to your help.

One other thing. Can I do some form of NT backup ? So that in the event of something like this happening again, I can just revert to the stored BackUp and not have to worry about loosing all chart settings and workspaces etc ?

    Cheers.

Ok glad to hear, perhaps an auto update on parallels?

We would not be experts on this here, but here's the steps normally needed :

    For Parallels:
    1. Start Parallels and select your virtual machine
    2. Press the “Configure” button on the top
    3. Under “Features”, select “Shared Profile”
    4. Uncheck “Documents to My Documents in Windows”
    5. Press “OK” and start the virtual machine

Please check that folder sharing is off first, I believe there was change here for an unfortunately unknown reason.

ScottieDog, the message concerning the mapping was likely the critical one here - can you please ensure the folder sharing is disabled between the Win and Parallels OS?

theres only one username on my computer, administrator, and I am signed in with that, as usual.

there hasn´t been any change. been running it for a year or more, this morning when I started windows it did say something about "mapping" but I didn´t take any notice, I just continued into windows, then started NT as usual......

it is being run on a mac, using parallels.

Could it be you're logged on with a different username? There would no option to tell NT where the files are stored, this would be set on the initial install done.

What could have possibly changed over the weekend in your setup?

Are you running a native Windows OS and not emulated on a MAC?

Look, you can clearly see that my files are on the standard C drive, they always have been.

Why is Ninja looking at this ficticious psf drive ?

How can I tell Ninja to look where it should be looking ? You can see the file path on my attachment, also showing the folders.

I don´t know why this psf drive has just occured, the Ninja files are all on my local C drive as they have always been.

This tells me that Ninja is trying to look for them on this "psf" drive, which doesn´t even exist.

SO, how do I tell Ninja to point to where the trace file actually is ? On the C drive, where it has always been.

Just checking into the error message that you posted, I see that this is not the case (note the //PSF in your used folder). This points to a shared folder setup we could unfortunately not support.

all files are on a local C drive, there are no external devices. No idea what a psf is.
