    NT 7 or NT 7 64 bit???

I just downloaded and installed the latest Ninjatrader (7.0.1000.7) on my new Windows 7 computer, and I got two icons on the desktop, the regular one and one that says "64 bit". Questions:
    1) what's the difference?
    2) is one better than the other?
    3) why are two versions offered?
    4) if you plan (as I do) to transfer files/workspaces/indicators etc. from my NT7 on my XP machines to my NT7 on my Windows 7 machine, should I use only the non-64 bit version of NT? Does it make a difference?
    5) have there been more problems reported with one version vs the other?
    6) is one version faster than the other?

    Thanks,
    Tasuki

    Hello Tasuki,

The 64-bit version of NinjaTrader has access to more PC resources, such as memory.

The 64-bit version would allow you to open more indicators, charts and workspaces.

There reason a 32-bit version is offered is not all connectivity providers have a 64-bit adapter. If your provided does not have 64-bit connectivity you must use the 32-bit version on a 64-bit computer.

Click here for a list of supported 64-bit connectivity providers

There should not be any conflicts between the two version. Both versions use a shared database.

There are not any issues with one version vs the other.

Technically, they should run at the same speed, however it would depend on how you defined speed. Since it has access to more resources, you should expect better performance, however this does not necessarily mean it is 'faster'.

Zenfire--which version am I using? How do I tell?

      Thanks;, Matthew!
The link you kindly provided says that Zenfire (my data provider) does indeed support 64 bit, but only after a certain beta release:

      - Zen-Fire (Beta 21 or later)

How do I find out whether I've got that version of Zenfire or not?

      Thanks,
      Tasuki

        Tasuki,

You can check your current version of NinjaTrader by going to Help--> About.

You should be on NT V7.0.1000.7 which is the current version and supports the 64-bit version of Zen-Fire.

As long as you are on a production release (7.0.1000.X) you will have the 64-bit version of Zen-Fire.
