Shutting down NT and impact on strategies

I am new to NT and just developed my automated strategies.

I assumed that those strategies will keep running even if I am not logged into NT and I was trying to close NT. But instead it gave me the message that 'You have 2 NinjaTrader strategies running, do you really want to shut down?'


I am wondering do I have to have NT running all the time for my strategies keep placing the trade? I want my strategies to keep running and placing the trades even when I am not logged into NT.

Yes you are correct in that NinjaTrader must be running for the strategies to run. As NinjaTrader on your system is one is running these strategies.

So this means I need a dedicated computer/laptop that is always on to trade 24 hours markets like futures. Correct?

Is there a way around this since I have a day job and I'll not be in front of the computer all time to run NT.

Correct, others have used a service called a VPS or Virtual Private Server. There are many server companies out there that you can setup NT on and run your strategies from there servers.

Do any of NT's partners provide such services? I am looking into Mirus Futures as my brokerage service and Zen Fire as the data service provider.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any, you may check with your broker they may offer a service like this.
