    Hello Borsz,

As Ryan posted, results are saved in the database. Could it be you deleted the database recently?

You can export the data to Excel by right clicking in the grid and select Grid-->Export to Excel. This does not include the Chart and Graphs tabs. Unfortunately it is not supported to export all data at once in another format.

      Hi Jason,

      Thanks for reply.

I never deleted the databe. It is in its folder (around 260MB).

Yes, I knew the Excel export, thanks.

I am not sure why you do not see your results. Did you perhaps renamed the database?

If you save new results in the Strategy Analyzer and restart NinjaTrader, do you see them when loading results?

Ok, so even if you save new results, they do not appear in the window that opens after clicking the 'Load backtest results' icon.

Can you please send me your log and trace files. Log and trace files can be found at the following locations. Please attach the files in your email and send it to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put 'Att Jason, Save backtest results' in the subject header.

              Hi Jason,

Yesterday night I repaired the DB. Today I tried it again and now I can see the saved backtest result. Can relation be between it?

Or, I suspect that the reason was a too big test result. I optimized and set "Keep best 100000 results". Could it be a problem that NT was not able to save so many records?

              Thanks,
              Peter

Good to hear you see results again after repairing the database. I do not think that repairing the database yesterday caused the issue.

I suspect this caused the issue. I am not aware of such a limitation, however 100,000 is quite a lot. I just performed an optimization with 25,000 results. When trying to save the results, NinjaTrader became unresponsive. I recommend to perform optimizations that use less results if you like to save the results.

                  Hi Jason,

                  Thanks for your support.

Another question: I made a strategy in the wizard. I want to make a version2, just by a little modification, but I want the original one to stay as it is. In the wizard there is no opportunity to create a new strategy by copying an existing one. So I copied the strategy in its folder (C:\Users\User\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\Strategy) and renamed it. I also changed its name in the code! But compiling still run into error - because of the name. What can still be the problem?

Is there a way to simply duplicate a strategy?

                  Thanks,
                  Peter

                    Hello Borsz,

                    Thank you for your response.

To duplicate the strategy open it by going to Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Strategy > select the strategy to copy > Open > then Next > then View Code > when teh code loads right click and select Save As > give the file a new name > OK. Now you will have a duplicate with a different name.

                      Working, thanks Patrick.

Another question: I accidently closed the chart, while the strategy is still running on.
How can I re-open the same chart on which the strategy is still active?

                      Thanks.

                        Hello Borsz,

                        Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, the strategy would be disabled and removed if it was on the chart and the chart was closed.

                          Hi Patrick,

Yes, it would be logical, but after closing the chart I still saw in the Control Center / Strategies tab that the strategy is still running (green) and realized PnL continuously changed and new trades were executed. Then how could it be?

                          Thanks,
                          Peter

                            Hello Borsz,

                            Thank you for your response.

In that case, the strategy was likely enabled on the Strategies tab of the NinjaTrader Control Center. Which means to disable we would need to right click on the strategy in the Strategies tab and select Disable.

So if I accidently close the chart (on which strategy runs), the only way to re-open it is that disable the strategy in the Control Center, open a new chart and launch the strategy again on the new chart. Right?

                              Thanks.

                                Hello Borsz,

                                Thank you for your response.

That is correct, you can also start and enable the strategy from the Strategies tab but it would not be visualized on a chart if you do so.
