Strategy Leaves Trades Residue on Chart when Removed.

    When I:

Open a chart. Add a strategy (e.g. SampleMACrossOver). Remove the strategy...

Several of the trades are not cleared from the chart (most are).

    This doesn't seem correct.

I have attached a screen shot of this redidue.

    Hello ts_gordo,

    Thank you for your post.

This behavior is to be expected.

If you would like to remove the plotting of executions on your chart:

-Right click on your chart and select Data series.

-For "plot executions" in the right side parameters, select DoNotPlot

Thank you for your speedy reply...

      Let me restate the circimstance:

Open a chart. Add a strategy (e.g. SampleMACrossOver). Remove the strategy...

The operative action here being the last one: Remove the strategy...

once the strategy is removed one cannot : For "plot executions" in the right side parameters, select DoNotPlot

Again, I say: leaving a few odd ball executions scattered through out the charrt, does not seem correct.

        Hello ts_gordo,

Can you please clarify what you mean by, "once the strategy is removed one cannot : For "plot executions" in the right side parameters, select DoNotPlot"?

Why can't you set this field to "DoNotPlot"?

Sorry, my mistake... When I tried it earlier nothing happened. This time it did work.]

Of course, when I apply a new strategy, I have to go through the procedure in reverse... hardly a solution.

Look, I am trying to report what I think is a bug. If your not interested, just say so... I'll stop wasting my time!

            Hello,

This is Brett assisting for Wesley.

The executions that are left to display on the chart are the actual account executions.

            Execution markers have two modes.

Mode 1 = Executions plotted from the database are the true live or Sim101 executions. These will display based on what account is selected in the chart trader panel.

Mode 2 = Historical executions for a strategy when a strategy is applied to a chart.

Therefor what you are seeing most likely is the actual live executions remaining on the chart. If this is the Sim101 account tradaes these can be cleared out by going to control center->tools->options->Simulator tab->Reset button.

Let me know if this is not whats going on we will investigate further.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Yes, that seems to be it. Now that I have done that reset, removing the strategy now never leaves any executions on the chart. Good!

I don't really understand just how I get what, if I have understood your comment at all, are mode 1 executions in the DB. I am a code writer I am never live... always sim101.

Are you saying that if I run some strategy in real-time and it makes some trades, they will go into the DB and show up on the chart when I remove any (other) strategy?

I gues I don't see the use... But I am sort of new at this, so maybe I will figure it out eventually...

Thanks for your help, immediate problem solved.

              Thank you
