Historical Market Data Server Lost

    Historical Market Data Server Lost

    I have the following message under the log tab of the Control Center.

    "Connection to NinjaTrader historical market data server lost: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"

    This is a CQG connection with no other connection. The connection was re-established in just under a minute. I've just noticed this when looking at the log entries and am concerned about what it means for my Live trading tomorrow.

    Can someone tell me how series this message is?

    Hello Taddypole,

    Thank you for your post.

    This message indicates that you were disconnected from the NinjaTrader historical data server. Are there any entries about being disconnected from the your CQG live connection? Or does it say ConnectionLost?

    What else is occurring around this time? Are you opening new charts? Do you have real-time data around this period?

    If you right click on the chart can you select "reload all historical data"?

      Hi Mathew,

      No entries about being disconnected from CQG Live Connection.
      No entries about "Connection Lost".
      I was not at the computer at the time of the message so not opening charts.
      Market was not open, so didn't have any real time data.
      I can reload historical data.

      So it appears this is not a serious message. It only means that I lost the ability to load historical data from the Ninja servers. That's the information I was seeking.

      Just wanted to know it didn't have anything to do with real time data.

        Taddypole,

        Correct - there is typically a bit of weekend maintenance that may have disconnected you at this period.

        However if you have any issues during live hours, please let us know by sending your log and trace files to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com and we can investigate further

          This message also occurs when CQG expires a free demo of their datafeed at the end of their 3-week trial.

          But in this case the connection does not get re-established (unless you enter a new account password).
