Error when adding a new instrument

Hello,

I am getting an error message in the NT Log when I try to add the Russell 1000 futures contract (traded on the NYBOT) to the Instrument Manager. My broker is IB and, according to their website, the symbol is RYO. The error message I get when I try to add this futures contract is :

"Default Error validating request:-'rb' : cause - Please enter exchange ServerValidateError"

I have checked the settings for RYO in the instrument manager:

Master Instrument = RYO
Type = Future
Tick Size = 0.05
Currency = USD
Point Value = 500
RollOver Period = 3
Exchange = Nybot
Symbol Map (Interactive Brokers) = RYO

When I pull up the RYO contract in the Interactive Brokers TWS, I can see the current Bid/Ask data updating for both the December 2007 and the March 2008 contracts. Also, I have about 20 other instruments on various other exchanges (Globex, ECBOT, etc.) in the NT Instrument Manager and they are functioning properly.

Any ideas on how to add this contract?

Hello uptick,

According to the following link the IB symbol is RYO, but you also see "R" and "RF" as a symbol for the RYO. Can you please enter either one of these symbols and check if you receive data.

In addition, I checked with Nybot and they are using the following symbol, "RM". Please try this symbol too.

I tried using R, RF, and RM in the symbol map field, but I am still receiving the same error message in the NT Log.
