    Bar Width

Would it be possible to add the feature in "Porperties": Bar Width below 1 (e.g. 0.5).
This would be usefull if watching charts with chandlesticks and with long periods.

Thanks for your suggestion. We'll add it to the list.

I'm using HiLo on lower timeframes, they use less space and I can do without the shadows. Maybe you can use them as a substitute in the meantime.

Being able to configure an outline would be nice, but would make them use more space. It would be great if this was optional, not sure how useful it would be though.

I would like to second that request for smaller bars widths.

We want to trade on single ticks, but at the same time we need to be able to view a day's worth of data on the screen at once in order to monitor how the strategy is performing.

It is at the point where our traders are on the verge of refusing to use NinjaTrader because of this.

But since I love it as a programming platform I would be really unhappy to see that happen.

I agree, this would be great. I was just going to post this before I saw this post

On the same topic, would it be possible to have the width set to "Automatic" so as you zoom in the bars width will become wider and as you zoom out the width will become narrower? Example below...

I likely am missing something but NinjaTrader charts already do that. As you zoom in, bar width increases as does bar spacing, opposite is true as you zoom out.

Ah I guess it does but the smallest value for a candle is still very wide so as you condense the data series the bars overlap instead of getting narrower. I guess by allowing the smallest width of the candle to be the same width as a OHLC bar would do the job, so as you condense the chart the candles would continually narrow down as in the video posted below. That would allow you to have the dimensions of your charts set up very small while still being able to see a considerable amount of data.

                      Thanks for the consideration

Currently the smallest width a candlestick body is drawn is 5 pixels (ninja property BarWidth=1).

I would like to draw candlestick bodies at 3 pixels (1 pixel of border and 1 pixel of fill).

Will this be available in NT 7 ?

                          Hello Hemlock,

                          Thank you for your post.

I will forward your request to development for future consideration.

No word on if this will be available by NT 7 release.

Any idea if thinner candlesticks will be available in NT7? I mean thinner than they are now. I know they are adjustable, but would like them thinner than the thinnest ones available right now.

Is this something that might be fixable through a custom indicator?

Unfortunately there is no line width between 1 pixel and 0 pixel.
