Trading on WiMAX connection

Hello, is there anyone trading using WiMax internet connection for trading. I have a wireless internet device (WiMAX connection) with my computer wired to the device. The internet speed is stable between 2MB to 10MB. Is anyone trading like this? Can you please share your experience.

Ya I trade on a tethered cell phone connection at times when Im traveling. I would say its fine but its just not all that stable. Im a pretty conservative trader and always have stops/safety valves in place because the connection does stall and/or go down for seconds at the time. I don't think I would recommend it for a HF stuff or anything that involves a lot of fast reactionary trading. Most of my trades involves limit buy orders with fixed stops so I know way in advanced what I plan on doing.

Thank you for your reply! I appreciate it. So you mean its ok to trade on WiMax as long as it is a very stable connection? Second, do you mind sharing what market you trade on your cellphone?

I mean obviously use your own discretion on what is a "stable" connection. For me, if I dont have pretty good reception....like 2 bars or more I usually dont trade. I also go to speedtest.net and check how my connection speed is looking. If it falls under 1 mbps on the download side and/or the ping rate gets too high like over 100ms, I usually dont trade unless, again, the connection is consistent and reliable.

I mostly trade ES and CL futures. Nothing automated, nothing requiring a lot of fast decision making. Even with the CL, if its a super volatile day I wont trade it because I will either have to make decisions too fast and/or I just don't want to risk the connection going down no matter how stable the connection looks.
