    two connectivity problems

    hi ninjas,

    1) since I started using NT (feb 2011) I've been not able to connect IB Gateway to the NT, I've always needed to launch the TWS. I understand that it would be much better runninq only IB Gateway as it's lighter as TWS

    2) last two weeks, every single day NT says at 06:17 am (GMT+1) that has found an error and need to shut down. As you can understand, I haven't found the problem and I have to wake up so early in the morning to restart NT

    I really apreciate if you helo to solve this, specially number 2) issue

    Hello josechu,

    1. Unfortunately, NinjaTrader requires TWS to connect to Interactive Brokers. It is not supported to connect to IB without running TWS.

    2. Can you please send me your log and trace files for today. You can find these files at the following locations.

    C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->(My) Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20110822 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)

    C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->(My) Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Trace--> trace.20110822 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)

    Please send them to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com.. Put 'Attn Jason' in the subject header and reference this forum thread.

    In addition, please include if there were any changes on your computer two weeks ago.

      pls find enclosed the lo file, the trace file is bigger than size allowed

      There was no change on my pc, but I started on august 1st a second Ib account (both with same user and password)

        Can you please send me the trace file as well. The log file displays you experienced a disconnection and then stops. It does not provide me information why NinjaTrader is shut down.

        If the trace file is larger than 3 MB, please zip the file first. I recommend to send it by email and not post it on the forum.

        If still larger than 3 MB, please use www.filexpressit.com to send me the file. Please send it to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put' Attn Jason' in the subject header and reference this forum thread.
