    cool off period for trading

    Hello,
Is there a way to code or an option that allows for a cooling off period after a bad trade. It can be either "don't trade for another 5 minutes" or "don't trade the next same signal"?

    Hi Krakken,

Yes, this is possible, once you can define objectively "a bad trade" and the exact conditions that allow / disallow your trading.

This sample can help work with performance data and offers a halt strategy approach, after user-definable conditions.

I would define it...for me at least to make it as simple as possible...as a trade that resulted in a loss.

Yes, that's possible and many ways to code it. A very simple condition would be to check BarsSinceExit(), but you can get more advanced working with performance data and custom programming your own conditions.
