NT7 unable to load chart data from IB

Hello.

I have downloaded and installed NT7, and managed to connect it to my IB TWS 918. NT7 connects ok (i.e. get the green status message at the bottom right-hand corner of NT Control Center with the message 'Connected - InteractiveBrokers'). I then opened an instrument on my TWS, in this example SIRI (Sirius XM Radio Inc) stock. I then try an open a chart for this stock on NT via File > new > chart . However, I get the following error:

Unable to subscribe to market data. Please assign additional exchange to this instrument in the Instrument Manager SIRI Default.

Then when I click 'OK', I get a further message:

Error loading data for 'SIRI Default'. Unable to change order. Please assign additional exchange to this instrument in the Instrument Manager SIRI Default.

This seem to be the problem with any instrument I tried that is not already in NT's database.

You will need to specify an exchange for these instruments. Please see this thread for some approaches to this:
