Range Bars question

I am not able to download historical data from Interactive Brokers nor Tradestation into charts when period is selected to Tick or Range, it downloads fine when selected to minute or day. Is that possible? Please explain why. Is there another way?

From Tradestation I am able to export historical tick data to a text file, Can I import it to Ninja Trader? If so how?

Start recording data in NT7. You'll have it from that point forward. Does that help?

Sledge, thanks, but it does not help because today "from this point forward" it would not be historical.

Kyle, you said "Unfortunately, neither of the providers you mentioned offer historical tick data" I also have Multicharts and I am able to get historical tick data from Tradestation into Multicharts with no problem. You may need to update Ninja Trader for this capability.

I just downloaded NT 7, can't find period type to switch a chart to range type or tick type? anyone help me ?

For a 5 Range bar, click in the middle of your chart and then type "5R" then press "Enter." I hope this helps. To get a tick chart of 144 ticks, left click in the middle of your chart once and then type "144T" and then press enter.
