Simulating Past 5M Market Data?

I've recently downloaded the free version, and want to practice with it before I purchase the lifetime version. So I created a chart of ES 09-11 and wanted to show the last 5M of data given. I went into the properties to change the time frame (was originally on Daily) and when I did the screen went blank. The only X property was 17.5 min away with only one candle of data moving. Even after waiting a while, a new candle didn't form. Annoyingly, I don't know which direction I need to edit this Simulated Live Feed Chart to having a broader and more revealing chart than a single candle.

EDIT:: I didn't have "27/7 Default" Selected in properties, yet I don't know if that has an effect on my problem.

Thank you for your post.


Please answer the following questions so I may further assist:

• What version of NinjaTrader do you currently have installed which can be found under Help-->About.
• What data provider are you connecting to within NinjaTrader?
• Are you showing as connected in the lower left hand corner of the Control Center?
• Are you receiving data within the Orders tab of the Control Center?
• Are there any error messages in the Log tab of the Control Center?
• When you right mouse click within your chart are you able to Reload historical data or is the option grayed out?
• What instrument and expiry month are you attempting to load?

Also there is currently an issue our development team is looking into regarding the Session Template being use when displaying Daily data. In the meantime as a work around please right mouse click within your Daily chart-->Data Series-->Session Template-->Set to "Default 24/7"-->Click Ok.

1) Version 7, the most up to date free version (downloaded 2-3 days ago)
2) No current Data provider (Using trend-style simulated data feed)
Annoyingly I currently don't have a computer to check out all of those options. But checking out those options will help me to reach my answer.

If you are connecting to the simulated data feed, this is expected behavior. The simulated feed does not store any historical data. As such, the charts will begin with a single bar.
