    Crash and workspace screw up

I had two workspaces open. NT crashed, as it has been doing quite regularly these days, due to some connection bug with Kinetick--it continually disconnects and reconnects in an endless loop and I had to kill the program. When I restarted all of my charts were in one workspace combined, the other one empty. Half of the charts in the workspace now will not load (just say "Loading data") so I have to manually recreate my primary workspace that I use every day, and lay it out exactly as it was before. About a half hour to full hour of work ahead of me. I am posting this here just so others know that these kinds of problems plague NT and to consider other alternatives if you want a bit more robustness. This is not the way I want to spend my saturday afternoon. Trying to troubleshoot and having to hear the same old "ensure a virus program is not accessing your workspace files" (I do not if you're wondering) will take longer than just doing it myself, so NT, unless you have a real idea, please don't bother even responding.

    Hi JoshDance,

I'm very sorry to hear of your frustration, but I do thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. I can absolutely understand that this isn't a sign of a great afternoon.

While I've never seen a workspace corruption like this one (usually settings are simply lost rather than combined in to other files) the best advice I can offer is to make full use of the backup and restore features in the software. To be clear, issues such as these should not occur, but if and when they do it's always handy to have a backup of your settings available so that you can get back on your feet as quickly as possible.

More information about backing up can be found here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...up_archive.htm

More information about restoring from a backup is available here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...up_archive.htm

All that said, we would be interested in investigating the crash itself. If that's something you are open to, let me know and we'll move forward from there.

Kyle, thanks for your post and concern. I will do a periodic backup and was not aware of the ability to do this. Thanks again.
