Alerts In Strategies

Hello Ninjas,

I'm thinking of executing trades from within the Control Panel for the first time.

Can someone please tell me if its possible to set alerts after a number of points once a trade has been executed?

Let me explain.

Everytime I place an order on a es-mini futures contract I would like be alerted when the contract has increased by 5 points. e.g. lets say a want to buy one contract at 10000 or 11000, I would like to alerted when the contract has increased by 5 points i.e. 10005 or 11005.

Hello Carlton,

You can setup alerts in charts and the Market Analyzer. You can use the PriceAlert indicator in charts. The PriceAlert indicator will generate an alert once its price level is reached, so you would setup the price level 5 points higher than your entry price.

You can use the UnrealizedProfitLoss column to setup an alert once you have $50 in profit - assuming 1 point represents $10.

In addition, if you make use of automated strategies, you can generate alerts as per the conditions you program using the Alert() method.

You can open a Market Analyzer window at Control Center-->File-->New.

Subsequently, right click in the Market Analyzer and select 'Columns'. You can now select the UnrealizedProfitLoss column and setup an alert.

Yes, once you submitted the order and it executes, the alert will trigger once you have $50 unrealized profit.

Thats great mate. I will experiment with that.

There is just one other important requirement.

Is it possible to set what is called a 'Bracket Order' when submitting orders.

For example in the attached example I have clicked on buy with Interactive Brokers platform. This shows three orders automatically being placed: 1 MKT, 2 LMT, 3 STP. It set up three orders at once so I don't have to submit three separate orders.

Can I achieve that with Ninja?
