Bar Intervals

Hello Ninja

I have been viewing bar intervals that have proved very puzzling.

As I write this I'm looking at 20:20 bar interval, but the time now is 20:10. How is that possible.

Bear in mind I'm in London, however that shouldn't matter. The fact is the bar that is moving is 20:20, but the time is now 20:11

I'm sure there is a simple explanation

BTW, I'm looking at a 10min interval

Its the same with the 15min Interval bar.

The time now as I write is 20:16, however, the the bar that is moving is a 20:30 interval bar.

As I mentioned, I'm sure there is a simple explanation and its probably just something that I'm doing wrong, however it does affect my entry and exits

Thanks for your post.

Keep in mind that NinjaTrader lists the bar by it's close time. For example, a minute bar with a time of 9:31:00 AM has data from 9:30:00 AM through 9:30:59 AM.

I've just looked at my charts with esignal, just to make sure I wasn't going crazy. When I place my cursor on the current bar esignal gives me the current bar as being 20:40, and the time now is 20:41, which is how I understand it. However, when I put my cursor on Ninja the it gives me the time as 20:50pm

Again, this is on the 10min interval.

Hi Carlton,

Not sure if you saw my reply based on your last response, but NinjaTrader lists the close time of the bar. In this specific example, that would be 20:50 in the 10 minute chart - the bar contains data from 20:40:00 - 20:49:59.
