NT won't start after a system clean

I ran a system clean today, something I do every couple of weeks

Now NT won't load. It tries to install from scratch, and fails.

It seems to be looking for a file called tmp449F.tmp, and it is looking for it in appdata\local\temp

any advice?

This message indicates that the NinjaTrader uninstaller file is missing.
To resolve this issue, download and run the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp utility listed below. Once the utility is running, select NinjaTrader from the list and select Remove. It will then be possible to reinstall NinjaTrader successfully.

Once the utility has been run and NinjaTrader has been removed, download NinjaTrader.

I'll try it. out of curiosity, why do i have to reinstall nt to begin with? i dont normally have to reintall an app after running a regclean

I'm unsure of why you need reinstall NinjaTrader, what program did you run?

Did you uninstall NinjaTrader?

Were any critical files removed by any registry programs?

I ran good ol glary utilities. then this happened

Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with these tools or utilities. It could be that these tools interfere with critical NinjaTrader operating files.

ok, as I feared, I reinstalled NT, and all my settings are gone.

all my strategies

all my instrument groups

everything.

now before I reinstalled, I took the Ninja Trader 6 folder out of my documents, and put it on the desktop, for fear that it would be overwritten by a reinstall.

after the reinstall, I put the old NinjaTrader 7 folder back into my documents.

now that I reinstall NT, nothing is there. I am starting with a blank slate.

I need you to tell me how to get all that back. I seriously put about 50 man hours into creating all thise groups and strategies and such. I will be VERY pissed if its gone for good.

Reinstalling NinjaTrader should not affect your user directory located in the Documents directory. As long as you did not delete this folder, all of your settings, indicators and other custom files will be retained.

From the folder that you moved to the Desktop directory, do you see your custom files? This would be workspace files, templates, indicators and strategies, etc.

Do you have any instances of these files or folders in your recycle bin?
