Distribution State detector

Hi,

I would like to ask if someone has already develop an indicator which looks at the price action of the underlying asset and identify at which state of the distribution shape the price is. To explain this more, I am looking for a model or indicator that learns about the characteristics of the distribution and it can detect the states. Based on the distribution shape there are 3 price action states( up-trend, down-trend and sideways trend).

The aim is to capture the current state but it could also intend to detect subsequent changes early enough for trading decisions.

1.Up-Trend
2.Down-Trend
3.Sideways
