    historical data server down?

    NT doesn't load historical data today.

    Hi bltoby,

    Thanks for reporting this issue.

    The historical data server is up and running. If you've not done so already, please try restarting NinjaTrader.

    If that doesn't do the trick, please let me know which build of NinjaTrader you're using. (Help > About)

    Likewise, if you're seeing any errors pop up, please let me know.

        Hello,

        I have the same problem and a few others.

        I downloadet the newest version from Interactivebrokers and Ninjatrader yesterday.

        I dont get daily data.
        I am not able to set defaults to fibos.
        I am not able to set defaults to how many days are displayed. Instead of 30 chart loads always five.

          Hi unitrade,

          Thank you for your post.

          Interactive Brokers connections don't use NinjaTrader historical data servers, so this seems to be a bit different.

          Could you tell me which build of TWS you're using? (Help > About Trader Workstation)

          1.) Per the daily bars, please:
          • Right click in your chart and select Data Series.
          • In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.


          2.) To save default settings for a Fib object:
          Open the Fib object's properties menu.
          Right click in the Fib properties menu and select 'Manage Templates'.
          Save your settings in a template named 'Default' (with no quotes).

          3.) To set a number of days back as the default:
          In the Data Series menu, set the days back property to '30'.
          Right click on the property and select 'Set Default for period type...'.

            Hi,

            many thanks for your fast response.

            Point 1-3 are working fine. I am using 7.827.092.

            One problem left. In NT 6.5 all ticks where stored on my pc. Even if I switched to tick bars two ours after starting I had a nice chart. In NT 7 tick chart first start when I switch to tick charts. Is this a problem of IAB? Because in 6.5 it was not a problem.

              Hi unitrade,

              Please navigate to the Data tab of the Options menu (Tools > Options > Data tab) and check the box labled 'Save Chart Data as Historical', then click OK.

              After making that change, the tick data should be saved.

                Hi,

                many thanks again. I only have the NinjaTrader Version 6 Help Guide site. Is there a help guide for version 7 out there?

                I wanted to use the "calculate value area" code on this site



                It doesn´t work. I think it depends on 6.5 / 7.

                Do you know a version for 7?

                  Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a version of this indicator compatible with NT 7. That said, you might try contacting the developer of the indicator to see if they have another version you could use.

                      I am also unable to get daily histoical data. Both the Kinectick EOD data and the Zen Fire data feeds are not populating my daily chart.

                      NT version 7.0.1000.6

                        Hi Laserdan,

                        Is it only daily interval charts which don't load data? If so, you are running in to a known issue with the 7.0.1000.6 release.

                        Please:
                        • Right click in your chart and select Data Series.
                        • In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.

                            Hi Laserdan,

                            I'm happy to hear that did the trick.

                            You should be able to re-enable the CME template after the release of NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.7, but the 24/7 template will need to remain in place for the time being.
