60 min EMA on 5 min chart

Hi,

Is there anyway I can impose 60 minute EMA on 5 minute chart based on close?

I tried an indiator downloaded from here and it's too heavy so it slows down everything and

sometimes freezes chart.

Thank you for your post and welcome to our forums!

Yes, it would be possible to use a 60 Minute EMA on a 5 minute chart, however you will need to first add the 60 minute data series to your chart.

Once you have the 60 minute data series added to the 5 minute chart, you can add the EMA indicator and change the 'Input Series' to the 60 minute close. You can then overlay this EMA onto the 5 minute chart by setting the panel to the same panel as the 5 minute chart.

After you overlay the 60min EMA onto the 5min chart, is there any way you can then erase the 60min chart on which it's based? When I try to, the 60min EMA disappears as well. In other words, I only want to see one panel with 5 minute bars. Thanks.

Use the config GUI to make the 60min candles and wicks transparent.
