    Nightly crashes of NT 7.0.1000.6

    Ever since upgrading to the latest version of NT, the program crashes after 14 hours of use every night. This problem did not exist with the previous version. I have not modified any chart scripts since the upgrade.

    The trace file does not show any record of unusual activity.

    For the record, the previous version was uninstalled before the installation of the new version.

    Please advise.

    Thank you for your post.

    Are you running the 32-bit version of NinjaTrader or 64-bit version?

    How much memory is being used at startup vs how much memory is being used around the ~14 hour mark when you have issues? What about the CPU usage?

    Any errors on the Log tab of the control center in yellow?

      Thank you for the reply.

      I'm running the 64 bit version of NT. As of 9 hours past NT startup which was around 5:00 A.M. local time, NT is using approximately 108 KB of memory. The workspace consists of 5 charts with an average of 3 indicators per each chart and one Market Analyzer window with a handful of quotes. I believe nearly the same amount of memory was used at startup.

      According to the Windows Task Manager, CPU usage is constant at 2%.

      There are no errors in the Log tab of NT.

      I will look at these stats again later tonight.

      Edit to add: IB (Build 917.8) is being used as the data source.

        Thanks for the update and please let me know.

        We will want to get a good idea of the resources that are being used around this time to help determine if you are running into resource limitations or if there is another issue here.

          Right on schedule, NT crashed tonight at 9:00 P.M. local time which is 19 hours after it started. I did not notice a drastic change in the amount of memory used.

          Windows Event Viewer had the following entry listed:

          Application Error

            Thanks for the update.

            In order for me to help determine why this is occurring, I will need to review your most current log and trace files.

            Please send an email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com and include your most recent log and trace files, Attn: Matthew in the Subject line and a reference to this thread.

            You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
            • The log file will be named ‘log.20110608.txt’


            You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
            • The trace file will be named ‘trace.20110608.txt’


            Please attach both of these files to your next response. If these files are over 4MB, please let me know and I can respond with alternative instructions.
