Data Not Loaded in Chart & Strategy Analyzer

    Data Not Loaded in Chart & Strategy Analyzer

    Hello there,

    I have just uninstalled previous version of Ninja Trader and installed NinjaTrader 64 bit 7.0.1000.6.

    I deleted all files from previous version in My Documents folder except for bin\Custom folder.

    I downloaded all my stocks price data again.

    However, when I created a new Chart, it doesn't seem to be able to read the data. The chart is blank. I checked that the are data available in Historical data manager.

    Please advise.

    Thank you for your post.

    Please answer the following questions so I may further assist:
    • What data provider are you connecting to within NinjaTrader?
    • Are you showing as connected in the lower left hand corner of the Control Center?
    • Are you receiving data within the Orders tab of the Control Center?
    • Are there any error messages in the Log tab of the Control Center?
    • What time interval chart are you attempting to open?
    • When you right mouse click within your chart are you able to Reload historical data or is the option grayed out?
    • What instrument and expiry month are you attempting to load?

      What data provider are you connecting to within NinjaTrader?
      - Yahoo
      Are you showing as connected in the lower left hand corner of the Control Center?
      - Connected - Yahoo
      Are you receiving data within the Orders tab of the Control Center?
      - No
      Are there any error messages in the Log tab of the Control Center?
      - No error message since the last start of NinjaTrader. But I often saw message in orange: "Unable to load server side config file: The operation has timed out"
      What time interval chart are you attempting to open?
      - Daily
      When you right mouse click within your chart are you able to Reload historical data or is the
      option grayed out?
      - Yes, I can click Reload historical data but no data is displayed, except the very last day which I believe is the uncompleted today's bar downloaded in real time instead of historical data stored in the historical database.
      What instrument and expiry month are you attempting to load?
      - Stock AA. Tried on AAPL didnt work either.

        There is currently an issue our development team is looking into regarding the Session Template being use when displaying Daily data. In the meantime as a work around please right mouse click within your Daily chart-->Data Series-->Session Template-->Set to "Default 24/7"-->Click Ok.

          The work-around does not work for me. The chart is still blank although there are data in data manager and I choose to load data for 365 days.

            Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris" in the subject line.

            In the message, please include the following:
            1.) A link to this forum thread.
            2.) Your most current trace and log files.

            You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

            Log file will be located by going to Documents >NinjaTrader 7 >Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt
