Open a DOM from the chart?

If I have a chart open, can I click or select somewhere on the chart to open a DOM for that instrument?

    Thanks

    Hello

    Thank you for your post.

You can click the Chart Trader icon at the top if you want to place a trader directly from your chart. However, if you want to place a trade in the SuperDOM window you will need to go to File > New > SuperDOM.

You can now also have the option of linking the SuperDOM window with the chart using the Window Linking feature discussed at the following resource:

Might I suggest it as an option? A "DOM" icon on the tool bar.

When one has many, many charts open, it is enough to sort through, and on top of that keep the DOMs straight. If one could shut down the DOMs and open them when needed, this button would be a life saver, cutting out many unneeded steps.

      Thanks

        Hello

Not sure if you have considered this but you could also bring up a new SuperDOM window using the Hot Keys feature in NinjaTrader (see screenshot). This would allow you to open a new SuperDOM window with a single key stroke if desired.

For info on configuring & additional info, please see the following resource:

Pardon, but I don't see a screen shot.

I can get a DOM to open with a hot key, but it is unassigned, no instrument. Can I set it so the chart-focus (for instance "ES E-MIni Futures) will open a DOM with the instrument as the surrent ES contract?

          Thank you.

            Hello TechTrad

You would always need to select the account & instrument (initially) in the SuperDOM window. Once this is done and saved in the workspace it would be available going forward.

The hot-key opened the DOM, I configure it to the contract, File>Workspaces>Save Workspace, and close DOM. If I open the DOM with the hot-key, it is reset to no instrument.

              Is this what you expected?

I'd like to click on a chart, and open the associated DOM.

              Thanks

Allow me to clarify, the Hot Key will open a ‘new’ SuperDOM window – this will not be pre-configured.

The SuperDOM that was configured & saved in the workspace will be saved.
