What is Value setting?

Hi;

In Market Analyzer, settings for an indicator, in the Data Series section there is a setting for Value. What is this for?

And in the General section, if Calculate on bar close is set to false does it then calculate on bar update? If it doesn't calculate on bar close then what does it calculate on?

The Value setting defines the value of the Type of the data series that is used to calculate the indicator. You can set it to 4 minute, 8 range, 200 tick, etc.

Correct, it will be calculated on each incoming tick. If set to True, it will calculate at the close of each price bar, so each 4 minute bar, 8 range bar, 200 tick bar.

What is the difference between the General # of bars to look back and the indicator # of bars to look back? Does General have to be equal to, or greater than any of the indicators'?

And, if you set the indicator # of bars to look back to something greater than 256 do you have to change the Maximum bars look back to infinite? What is the relationship between the two?

Both settings configure the same - how much historical data is used to calculate the indicator.

Yes, if '# of bars to look back' exceeds 256 bars, please set 'Maximum bars look back' to Infinite.
