NT 7.0.1000.5 upgrade issue

    NT 7.0.1000.5 upgrade issue

    I have 7.0.1000.4 installed. When I try to run the 7.0.1000.5 setup.exe I get a popup that says I have to run "Step 2" of the installation guide. Step 2 in the guide is to download and install the software. Please help.

    Thank you for your post.

    You'll need to take the following steps:

    1.) If you have previously installed a 3rd party commercial indicator or strategy via a vendor provided installer program please uninstall these components via the vendor provided uninstaller or the Windows Control Panel "Uninstall or change a program" (might be named Add/Remove Programs)
    2.) Start NinjaTrader 7
    3.) From within the Control Center window, select the menu File > Utilities > Remove NS Assembly
    4.) Within the "Remove NinjaScript Assembly" window, remove all items listed in this window
    5.) Close NinjaTrader
    6.) Uninstall NinjaTrader 7 via Windows Control Panel "Uninstall or change a program" (might be named Add/Remove Programs)

    The next two steps involve the deletion of files related to 3rd party indicators or strategies. Your custom scripts and user data such as trade, chart, workspace data and templates will be maintained.

    7.) Delete the following folder if it exists

    • 32-bit PC – "C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 7"
    • 64-bit PC – "C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7"


    8.) Delete all files (not folders) within the folder "Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom".

    9.) Your current installation is now ready for upgrade: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/download_download.htm

    After this has been completed, you may need to contact the vendor of any 3rd party indicators or software you use at this time.

      I also had an issue with the 7.0.1000.5 install. I am running Win Server 2008 64-bit.

      when I first ran the installer, I only had the 32-bit version on my computer. When I ran the installer again, I did a repair of the installation and now I have the 64-bit version.

      I have heard from a quite a few people that this is happening with many different versions of Windows OS. This could be a solution.

        Did you happen to have NinjaTrader running during the installation of 7.0.1000.5?

        We have heard reports of the 64-bit shortcut not being added to the desktop when NinjaTrader.exe is still running.

        Performing the repair installation or manually creating a shortcut are both options to get the 64-bit shortcut on your desktop.

          No I did not have 7.0.1000.4 running. I had shut down NT before the installation.

          I'm quite sure that the 64-bit version was not installed because I checked the Bin64 folder and there were no files in it.

          Everything works after the repair.

              Hello

              I just downloaded and installed NT 7.0.1000.5 but when I start the program the startup window appears and then it takes more than a minute before my workspace appears (it used to take 10-15 seconds max). What's more, I can't connect to Zen Fire (I use the auto-connect feature).

              Previously I had NT 7.0.1000.1 installed and it worked perfectly. Please advise.

                When you had 7.0.1000.1 installed were you using any 3rd party indicators?

                Did you follow the upgrade instructions from 7.0.1000.2 and older to newer versions of NinjaTrader?

                Regarding your connection, is there an error message listed in the Log tab of the Control Center? If errors are found, please report.

                  I'm pretty clueless as to what to do next because I already removed and reinstalled V5 and it doesn't work. I did the same with V4 and it works perfectly.

                    I'd like to investigate this further, please send me a note to: Support [at] NinjaTrader [dot] com ATTN: Cameron in the subject, and link to the forum in the body.

                    Include your Config.xml, log and trace files.

                    You will find the Config.xml file in the

                    Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Config.xml

                    You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.

                    The log file will be named ‘log.20110523.txt’

                    You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.

                    The trace file will be named ‘trace.20110523.txt’

                    Attach and email me these files in their original format.

                      Upgrade problems

                      I had the old version connected to CQG, but NinjaTrader closed. When I downloaded and tried to open the the 64 bit version, it said that only one could be connected. I tried everything that I could think of.

                      Finally I deleted NinjaTrader from my computer.

                      Help!!

                        There only can be one CQG adapter running at any time(LoginFailed)

                        If so, you will need to uninstall/reinstall NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.5. You will not lose any chart data, workspaces, or chart templates.

                        Use the following link to download NinjaTrader. You can register your current license key which can be found under the Control Center -> Help--> License Key

                            I am running Windows 7 64bit i7 3.4Ghz 8Gb ram. I upgraded from 64bit 1000.1 to 1000.7 yesterday and now I get the error message:

                            There only can be one CQG adapter running at any time(LoginFailed)

                            I have tried reinstall and uninstalling and I still get the same error message. The only 3rd party indicator I have is the Fin-Alg TPO Chart from iTradePod and that was working fine prior to the upgrade. What do I need to do?
