Exported NinjaScript being linked to other assemblys

Thanks for your reply Chelsea. This is a real annoyance.

It appears that my script got corrupted whilst I was editing it. I created a new one from scratch and did not have the issue.

I wish there was a way to save new versions of the strategies, without having to start from scratch.

To create a copy of a strategy:

• In the Control Center select Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Strategy
• Select the strategy to copy > Click Ok
• Right-click within the code window > select Save As
• Give the strategy an unique name > Click OK

To create a copy of an indicator:

• In the Control Center select Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Indicator...
• Select the indicator to copy > Click Ok
• Right-click within the code window > select Save As
• Give the indicator a unique name > Click OK

I have saved a strategy under a new name in order to make incremental changes, but it is not available in the "Edit Strategy" dialog. Is there a different way to open and edit a strategy that has just been saved under a new name?

If the script has been saved, re-open the Tools -> Edit NinjaScript -> Strategy... window and it will be listed (even if it is not compiled). This window when opened, lists the files in the Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\Strategy folder. If there is a file with that name in this folder, it will be listed in dialog window.

It doesn't appear to be saving. I right-clicked within the Strategy Wizard, selected "Save As", gave it a name and clicked "Ok". The strategy is not available via Tools>Edit Strategy, nor is it in the custom strategy directory.

Any ideas?

I agree that option is slightly misleading for both workspaces and for scripts.

When you select Save As, this opens the copy of the script but does not actually save it.
You have to click the Save icon (the first icon (an icon of a diskette) on the toolstrip of the NinjaScript Editor window) to save the file, or click compile and compile it.

The same is true of workspaces. Selecting Save Workspace As, opens a copy of a workspace but doesn't actually save it until you click save.
