    Simulated Stop Order Type?

Hi, i am using simulated stops with a volume trigger in an ATM strategy, and the simulated stop is submitting market orders once its triggered which is causing slippage...Is it possible to use limit orders for simulated stops instead of market orders? how would I set it up?

    thanks for your time

    Hello dawdler,

    Thank you for your post.

You can configure NinjaTrader to use Stop Limit orders for Stop Loss orders by:
Right clicking in the order entry window and selecting Properties.
Setting the 'Use Stop Market for Stop Loss Orders' property to 'False'.

        dawdler,

Please check the Orders tab of the Control Center for order type - are you actually seeing Market orders submitted? If so, I take it that you are not using ATM strategies?

            dawdler,

Are these your entry orders? It's not possible for the ATM strategy to place a stop loss order which is a market order.

Kyle, no they are not entry orders (the name says SimStop1 at the right column)...i just sorted the simstops first but they are all stop orders to exit a position

                dawdler,

Please place a new order (in the sim101 account) then show me the pending order in the orders tab of the Control Center.

                  ok

1st attachment shows just a pending entry order
2nd attachment shows the OCO stop & target once the entry order is filled
3rd is after the trade is stopped out. notice the simstop1 says "market"

                    dawdler,

Please adjust that stop so that it executes, then provide an update image of the Executions tab of the Control Center.
