No API connection = Ninja window invisible

I found really big problem. Whenever my broker (PFG) servers are not connectable, then I can't start NinjaTrader application.

What that means? For example - now i Eastern Weekend, propably broker has shut down servers. API software can't connect but is working in background (icon in a tray), same like Ninja. Both processes in Windows system are running, but Ninja is waiting for signal from API. Finnaly I have completly usless trading software, beacause I can't see any charts anyway. Ninja is waiting for signal from API, API is waiting for connection.

I think - NinjaTrader process should be independent of API process! Otherwise Ninja process is running in bacground, but any window of this software is not visible.

This expected behavior when you elect to have NinjaTrader Connect to your broker on start up. To resolve you will want to uncheck this option or have an additional connection to an alternative data provider.

All brokers will perform their scheduled system maintenance at some point when the markets are closed. This normally takes place over the weekend. It is not recommended that those connecting to brokers as their only data source use this connect on start up option.

If the markets are open & you are unable to connect then we will need to take corrective action.
