Forex Lot Size

How can I determine the lot size for forex without using multi-series strategy?

I googled and topics from years ago came up. Since then NT didn't come up with a simple function to get a currency value for a strategy!
I simply would need the current value of $EURUSD at startup to calc the lot sizes. Come on, can't be that hard!

symphys, could you please clarify what you exactly seek? I'm not sure what method you're missing for your strategy.

A good moneymanagement is the key to success in trading! Therefore I consider a strategy not being able to perform this task incomplete.

Lets say the strategy trades $USDYEN with the user having a EUR account. For correct MM the strategy should be able to calculate position size:
Risk EUR / $EURUSD / Risk Ticks * $USDYEN * Ticksize


This is not possible in a single series strategy! As the strategy has only access to the data of $USDYEN. So there should be a function to get the current price of any of the available currencies.

Adding the a second barseries is simply to much as this value would only be needed once.

Hello,

My product manager says that you need to check this once at least every single day. Which means that you need at a minimum to add in a daily series to pring in data to do this. Therefor you will need to add in a daily seriesto then be able to make the conversion and would be needed in any scenario.
