SMS text message alerts

Is ther a way to have a text message sent when, for instance, price closes above/below a certain level?

Unfortunately, that isn't currently possible but the suggestion is being considered by development.

I made a skype alert sometimes back. it sends instant messages and sms too, though i havent check the sms part as it needs subscription.

i did build a sms alert using way2sms.com but they are based here in this part of the world, and wont work in the US. u can build something if there is a free provider and do not uses too much protection etc. but i suppose skype is the easiest thing to do.

Most cell phone carriers have an SMS alert email address.

Hello kronofogdn,

Unfortunately this is still not supported by default.

However you can create a custom indicator/strategy that will submit an email which can be converted to a text message. Please see post #4.

I have done this today and gotten it to work with my carrier Telus.

I used smtp.live.com . Gmail sent the test email but I had issues for the actual SendMail command, like some others had posted in years past.

So perhaps if you are having issues try hotmail. It send the SMS within 10-15 seconds which is nice.
