Can't get data from IB in the Static superDOM

    Can't get data from IB in the Static superDOM

    I currently have the free version of ninjatrader. It displays data in the dynamic superdom, but not in the static superdom. Any reason for this?

    Also, anyone knows what IB market data package I must subscribe to to get the proper market depth? Currently I only see the market depth for the current bid/ask value. I'm assuming I will need a Level 2 feed, which is then used to populate the DOM-windows?

    Thank you for your post.

    You will need access to Level II data from Interactive Brokers in order to see this market depth.

    You will want to use the Dynamic SuperDOM when trading stocks.

      I see, well I only subscribe to the default $10/month data package from IB.

      Looking at Market Depth / OrderBook windows directly in the TWS, it seems that this package includes L2 data as well. The L2 data displays fine in the TWS , but for some reason it's not transferred to the SuperDOM or the L2 in Ninjatrader...?

        If the data is availiable in IB then we should be able to get it inside of NinjaTrader.

          Alright I tried sending a support mail but I got an error message (Says it failed to establish a connection to 64.38.21.160:25), so I am not sure if it got through. If not I can zip up my trace and log files from the My Documents folder, then upload via Megaupload or something and link them here...

            Okay, I attached the zipfile that NT made in my TMP folder before it failed to send the file in the e-mail.

              I'm not seeing anything specific wrong in the log.

              Is this something that has never worked or stopped working?

              Finally what specific instrument and expiry are you trying to get data for?

                Hi,

                This is something that I've never managed to get working.

                I tried getting data for X and AAPL. Both show up in the TWS L2, but no data is shown in the Ninjatrader L2.

                Here's what it looks like in the TWS L2 vs NT L2:

                  Hello,

                  In the instrument manager. What do you have for checked exchanges for X? We need to make sure this is the same as displayed in IB. Looks like NYSE is the correct exchange.

                  Also, please remove the X off your default list if it is there and add X to your default list with the NYSE mapped as the exchange. Does this allow the data to come in?

                        Hi,

                        I still can't get this to work. I did not have X on my default list, but I had it in an instrument list that I call "NYSE complete", which are all the stocks on the NYSE. I have also associated this list to the NYSE, but to no avail.

                        So I tried deleting the X stock from my "NYSE complete list", then I added it to my Default list instead and checked the checkbox for NYSE. Still doesn't work.

                        One thing that does work is all the futures on the Default list. For example the ES 06-11 shows up on the L2 successfully.
