    can't get CME futures chart working with interactive brokers data and NinjaTrader7

    I can't get CME futures chart working with Ninja Trader7 and Interactive broker's data feed.

    I have no problem with Ninja 6.5 with interactive broker's feed. I also have no problem for charting with Ninja Trader 7 with spot forex live feed from Interactive brokers.

    Does this have to do with 64bit operating system stuff??

    I appreciate any info or input regarding CME futures chart for Ninja Trader 7 and Interactive brokers combo.

    Can you please tell me what version of NinjaTrader you currently have installed which can be found under Help-->About as well as the version of TWS you have installed.

    Do you receive data within TWS for CME instruments? What instrument are you attempting to load?

      Yes, no problem. I am trying to load Euro, JPY or other CME forex futures instruments.

      I am trying to upgrade to Ninja Trader 7.0. However, I can't get live CME futures product charts with interactive brokers feed. It seems to access interactive brokers feed since Dynamic SuperDoM for CME futures products is working properly. It also provides spot forex data, and I am getting spot forex chart. But, I can't get CME futures chart at all.

      Currently I have no problem getting CME futures products charts with Ninja Trader 6.5, interactive brokers, and TWS 909.9b combo.

        Please uninstall your current version of TWS and install TWS 911.3 at the link I have provided below.



        Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

          Hello,

          Thank you for your help. I uninstalled it, and reinstalled latest 916.5 version of TWS because I couldn't find the version of TWS you gave.

          However, I still can't get charts for CME futures instruments. I looked CME site, and made sure if ticker symbol for instrument is correct. It is very weird that ticker symbol is changed often.

          For instance, euro futures was 6E previously, but now 7E. JPY futures also used to be 6J, and now 7J. But, ninja trader is still getting data feed as 6E and 6J. But, both charts are not moving, and only dynamicDOM is moving.

          I suspect CME is changing ticker symbol, and Ninja or Interactivebrokers is not reflecting CME change. Please help me finding this issure. Thanks. I always appreciate your time.

            Yes the current contract symbols will continue to be 6E, 6J, etc. After uninstalling your current TWS please visit the link I have provided below and to install TWS 911.3 please click on Download as referenced in the attached screen shot.

                  Hello, again

                  Problem started again. All futures instruments stopped at 12:00PM today, and are not updating since then. Cash forex is working. Only futures instruments are not working. Thank you again for taking your time.

                  I checked time zone and it is set to 24/7.

                    Are you receiving real-time data within the Orders tab for Futures at this time? If so and the chart still is not updating please close all your open workspaces by going to the Control Panel-->File-->Workspaces-->Close Workspace

                    After you have closed all workspaces please create a new workspace by going to the Control Center-->File-->Workspaces-->New Workspace

                    Within the new workspace please open a new chart with no template or indicators applied and let me know if the issue persists.

                      It is working by closing and opening new workplace. Chart is updating with new workplace now. You seem to know exactly what is happening on this. What is it?

                        Hello stanaka,

                        This seems to be a workspace corruption. You'll need to recreate the layout of your original workspace in this new working workspace.

                            Chart stopped updating again at 12;00pm pacific time, and doesn't update after closing and opening new workplace this time. what is happening this time??

                              Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris" in the subject line.

                              In the message, please include the following:
                              1.) A link to this forum thread.
                              2.) Your most current trace and log files.
                              3.) The Operating System you currently have installed.

                              You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

                              Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt
