Displaying Dummy Instrument

Hello,

I have created a dummy instrument to store some of my indicator values permanently. I created a symbol for it which does not conflict with any other symbol.

However, when I tried to load it in the chart, the chart attempts to download latest data from my data provider. Obviously there is no such instrument there. When this happen, the chart refused to load historical data which I have uploaded into the system.

Is there any way I could still see my dummy instrument in the chart without disconnecting my datafeed?

Not only did the chart refuse to display properly, but also deleted my uploaded historical data for the duration selected in the chart.

Hello Alvantage,

I would suggest going to Tools--> Options--> Data tab and unchecking "Get Data from Server (if available).

With this option unchecked, it will prevent the automatic retrieval of historical data from the servers when loading a new chart or instrument. However, in cases where you need this historical data, you can always force this request by right clicking on the chart and selecting "reload all historical data".
