Hi,

Does a strategy validate a vendor license for an indicator once during backtesting/optimization or every execution?

Thank your your post.

A Strategy's vendor license is verified any time the initialize() method is called, which holds the VendorLicense check method.

You can expect the license to be checked during real-time execution and in backtesting as well.

It is my understanding we can only put the license check in Initialize(); it would seem making the call to your servers during an exhaustive optimization would create a lot of server traffic and have many other implications.

Is there any way around this situation?

Initialize is called once on a backtest and I am not aware of any workarounds to the licensing concerns during a backtest.

Perhaps another developer can share their experiences here.
