Install on D: Drive

Is it possible to install NT7 on D: drive instead of C:? If so are there any special things I need to do?

C: is my main drive where OS is located but it is an SSD drive so I want conserve space.


I would like to put it on my D: drive where I put most of my application files. My D: drive is not a network drive.


Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else in the forum I could not find it. I saw some info on network drives but was not clear regarding putting it on another regular system drive is okay.

Thank you for your post.

It is possible to select a different installation folder from the installation wizard when installing NinjaTrader 7.

However, you will not be able to migrate or relocate your user database from the local C: --> My Documents directory.

I would like to add that I am running on 'E' drive for more than 3 months, no issues faced .

NT needs login with Admn privileges but I login my XP OS as a user without admn. privileges. Still, I am able to run NT by 'Run as ... ' with admn. privileges.

Thank you for the quick answer. I assume the database is what composes most of the disk space need with NT so I am guessing will not help me to much in saving disk space on my C: drive. Would this be a correct assumption?

Yes, you would be correct. The database is what contains your user data and is likely to take up additional storage space.
