No historical data from IB demo

    No historical data from IB demo

    During the day I connect to IB's demo acct to do programming and for a few days I have not been able to receive real-time or back-data (Reload Historical is greyed-out). I have "Get Historical data from server (if available)" i.e., NT's server, enabled in Options/Data but do not get any data. I created a blank chart so it is not a Workspace issue. Using NT 1000.4

    Understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider

    You will see in this section a table, It is here listed under IB you will see a mention that historical data can only be downloaded from a live account only in most setups. This is most likely what your facing. You would need to connect to a live account to get historical data from IB.

      Thanks. What about historical data from Ninja's server if Tools/Options/Data - Get Historical Data from Server - is enabled? This is for ES and NQ intraday. I don't get historical data from there either.

        Hello,

        Thanks for your note.

        This setting does not effect this and only enabled and disabled historical data on your IB connection, you do not connect to the NinjaTrader data server if this is checked. Do you have a multi broker license or a Single Broker or a free license? For a quick check on what is causing this to occur as this can change depending on license type.
