Data Loss When Reloading Chart, MB Trading

Using MB Trading as data source, and NT 7.0.1000.3, instrument BGZ

If "reload all historical data" is actioned from a 1 minute chart, and the chart range is greater than 6 months, then historical data is lost.

Is the data simply not available on the chart, or is it actually removed from the Historical Data Manager as well?

The data is removed from Historical Data Manager.

For example:
Import 2 years of 1 minute BGZ data into Historical Data Manager.
Close Historical Data Manager.
Connect to MBT.
Start a new chart BGZ, 1 minute, 365 days.
From the chart, right click, select "reload all historical data".
Open Historical Data Manager. Observe 1 minute last. See data for 6 months "ago" is okay but months 6 thru 12 "ago" are missing, and months 12 thru 14 "ago" are okay.

I do not see the same behavior on my end. Is this something which only occurs with BGZ, or was BGZ the only instrument you'd tested with?

Same problem with BGU.
Those are only two that I keep long term historical minute data.

Also another problem:
Do not reload day bars. MB day data is adjusted for splits but NT will not readjust back to raw data. Must make day bars by importing minute data with option box “make day bars from minute data” checked.

Could you please try recreating this with an instrument you've not yet loaded in NinjaTrader? For example, would AAPL yield the same result?

I only have MB for a 1 minute data source. So I cannot load more than 6 months of another symbol.

You have to exit Historical Data Manager before reloading from chart, or the data is not erased.

Are you not loading data for the other instruments through the MBT connection?

As you're running NT 7, historical tick, minute and daily data should be avaialble to you.

Yes all my data comes from MB. I have charts of BGU and BGZ that run continously for years. That is why I have the data.

I added some comment to posts #5 and #7. Please reread.
