Connecting with kinetick end of day to get mini SP500

    Hello,

I am interested in mini sp500 data end of day. I went to File > Connect > Kinetick - End Of Day (Free) but then what? How do I get the graphs and how can I simulate?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thanks for the forum post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

    Now goto File->New->Chart.

Then type in ^SP500 for the symbol name to bring up this index.

Make sure you set it in the parameters after you click new to create the chart that you specify day as the chart time frame.

There you have it a new daily chart of the SP500.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Thank you for the quick answer.

The symbol name for mini SP500 is ES.

I am used to visual chart and I had a more granular view, not just only by days. Can I make that graph with ninja?

        Hello,

Yes this is the futures instrument however and not the index which is the Sp500 that you originally requested.

ES 06-11 will get you the current daily chart of the futures isntrument.

Also, on your second question what do you mean by a more granular view. You only have access to daily data on with the free connection. Any intraday data in charts you would need to connect to the full kinetick.com service and purchase a subscription or connect to a broker that will give this data to you for little or no cost.

                Hello,

Unfortunately I do not have any first hand experience with locations that you can download historical data to do a manual import into NinjaTrader.

To get data in the easy way to NinjaTrader is to connect to a supported data feed provider. Such as www.kinetick.com or your broker.
