ATR in ATM

I know this has been asked before, see this:

I was wondering if it is already possible to use ATR-related parameters to set up ATM strategies on NinjaTrader 7? If not, is it something it is already on the list for future considerations? It would be pretty useful.

To automatically set up trailing stops based on net or percentage difference is ok but probably not enough. It would be ideal to incorporate indicators such as the ATR into the ATM functionality to develop automated exit strategies.

This is currently not possible with ATM Strategies. Is possibly in a Automated NinjaScript strategy but then you would also need to automate your entries as well.

Hi Brett,

I am new to ATM strategies and in searching the forums for a solution to my target strategy describe below, I found this thread and thought it sonds like what I am looking for.

This is what I want to do:

1. Place entry order for XX stock at XX price. Time in force: Today
2. On entry of above order, place OCO order with stop loss and take profit orders.
a) Stop loss: At XX price that I decide when placing the entry order.
b) Take profit: Automatically calculated by NT set to sell 1/3 of position at 1 ATR from entry. Another 1/3 of position at 2 ATR. Last 1/3 of position with some kind of trailing stop.

Is the above possible with NT today? If yes, how? If no, when will it be?

Thanks for the forum post.

The part I have quoted below is not possible and the stop would need to be manually submitted. This is on our suggestion list for development to look into adding in our next major list. I will add the vote to the ID in this tread for it.

I do not have an expected release date for next major release at this time nor could I confirm any features.

Does that mean work has not yet begun on next major release of NT?

Also, how would I do 1 & 2 without a+b in the current NT?

It does not mean that at all, means that there is no information i could provide on it at this time.

Thanks, Brett. If you don't mind me asking, why so secretive about the next release? As long as no features are mentioned I am sure NTs competition won't be able to use information on whether or not work has begun on the next release for much.
