    New Install Problem

I just did a clean install of NT7 because customer service asked me to do a completely clean installation. The problem is that now all my workspaces are gone, but also my custom strategies are not working right. How can I go back? I have the old NinjaTrader7 folder. There is some setting I'm not getting right, so I need to see the old setup.

This is really important because I have a whole system being evaluated by a broker and it does not work right now. Plus, I have open orders based on my strategies and they no longer run correctly. I was using Version 7.0.1000.3, but I can't find it on the download site.

I think I figured out one critical issue. I used to use "<use instrument settings>" for the data series template. That appears to have changed, so I had to select "CME US Index Futures RTH".

What I'd like to know is when customer support says, "delete the NinjaTrader7" folder what are the items that have to be reintroduced? Can some of the settings be exported and re-imported? Is there a good list of these items? And finally, please let people know what is going to happen when they take this step.

      Hello tradetree,

The short answer is ‘everything’. When you delete the NinjaTrader 7 folder it eliminates the NinjaTrader database, indicators, strategy, templates, etc.

If you are uninstalling NinjaTrader, you could create a backup so that after reinstalling you could restore these items.

      Creating a backup archive:
      1. Disconnect from all connectivity providers (if connected) and from within the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Backup...
      2. The "Backup NinjaTrader" dialog window will appear
      3. Select the items you wish to back up
      4. Press the "Run Backup" button

      To restore a backup archive:
      1. From within the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Restore...
      2. Select the backup archive to restore from the "Restore" file dialog window
      3. Press the "Open" button

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
