    hello,
    I'm attempting to sync my tradestation to NT for a strategy on the DAX future. This is the error message that I'm getting. "InteractiveBrokers, Unable to summit order: Please assign an additional exchange to this instrument Manager FDAX Default affected Order: Sell 1 Limit @ 7114.5"
    Can you please help me with this?

    Hi PistolPete,

    To assign an additional exchange:
    Click Tools > Instrument Manager
    Search for FDAX and then Edit.
    Check the exchange column (likely EUREX)

    Which version of NinjaTrader are you using? FDAX should already be setup with Eurex exchange.

      I already did that and I still get the same error message.

        It's likely you have a stock defined as FDAX. I would start with a new database:

        Please rename your database with the following steps :

        * Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
        * Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> DB--> NinjaTrader.SDF.
        * Right click on NinjaTrader.SDF and select "Rename." *Name it "OLDNinjaTrader.SDF."
        * Then restart the software and NinjaTrader will create a fresh database file to use
        * Unfortunately the following items stored in the old database will be lost – ATM Strategy templates, Session templates, Instrument Lists / Custom Instruments and historical trade execution data

        To prevent running into situations where you can potentially lose important data, we advise to run regular backups via our inbuild backup feature in NinjaTrader - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...up_archive.htm

        You are also running a beta version of NinjaTrader 7. The latest production release is available here:

          So I'm going to lose all my custom indicators because NT has to securities with the same FDAX symbol?

            No custom indicators are lost- Just the items listed in the reply above. You may also consider deleting the FDAX (stock) instrument.               It says that I can't open that file on my computer. Do you know what I should download to be able to open this file? "windows cannot open this file: NinjaTrader.sdf

                You do not need to open it. You rename so that NinjaTrader creates a new one.

                Right click on NinjaTrader.SDF and select "Rename." *Name it "OLDNinjaTrader.SDF."

                    No, there won't be an issue with another database there. You can rename to OLD2 since you can't have the same filename in the directory.

                      Login Failed: IB.Adapter.messageLoop an invalid argument was supplied.

                      This is what comes up now when I try to connect to IB
                      do you know what that means?

                        Next step is upgrading your installation of NT, to use the production version. You can download either 7.0.1000.2 or 7.0.1000.3 here:


                        If you are using 3rd party add ons, be aware that there are different version of these add ons for Release 3 than for prior versions of NinjaTrader.

                        You'll also want to be sure you're running the latest supported version of TWS which is 911. If you are running anything else, please uninstall that version from the control panel and install using the link below

                          I just did that and of course all my indicators that I put in before have been deleted.

                              I did every step 1 by 1 in the forum below. When I turned my NT back on all my custom indicators that I put on NT where not on my ninja trader. It's not a big deal, I went and found them again but NT should try to make their upgrades a little smoother and far less complicated.
