Hello,

I'm looking to an automated trading system and i'm currently testing NinjaTrader. I installed free version yesterday and i'm quite embarassed because I could not get access to french stocks. I tried adding manually Alcatel Luccent one, for example, but NT is unable to retreive datas from either Google, Kinetick or Yahoo providers. Could you tell my how to have french stocks in NT ?

Thank you for your post, and welcome to the forum.

Using Yahoo data I was able to receive daily data for the ALU instrument from the Paris Stock Exchange.

NinjaTrader comes pre-loaded with the most commonly traded instruments however, you may find the need to add an additional instrument. Please follow the instructions below to add an instrument in the Instrument Manager.

• From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
• Press the "New" button
• *Enter in instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange (add Default exchange for equities in addition to the actual exchange)
• Fill in any relevant information under the "Misc" tab such as symbol mapping for your target connectivty provider
• Press the "OK" button

For this particular instrument to create it I went to the following page to confirm the settings:

Then using the steps above I created the instrument and the result I have included in some screenshots. If you repeat these steps for other instruments you should be able to create daily charts from Yahoo data.

Thank you for your quick update. I went to the steps you provided me but it looks like i'm failing from setting properly exchange field. Could you tell me which one you selected (i could not identify cac or euronext in provided list) ?

Hi LaughingDwarf,

For the exchanges you will want to select 'Default' as well as the actual exchange for the Paris exchange you will select NYSE.

The French Specific exchange is included in the Yahoo symbol ALU.PA, and so by defining default we will use that exchange for the Yahoo symbol, and the NYSE would apply to the fact that stocks on the Paris Exchange are part of the larger NYSE Euronext exchange.
