    PFGSocket_OnDisconnect - Connection was terminated. (-7)

    Hi,

    I signed up for PFG NT demo account and received product key and PFG login/pass.

    I downloaded 7.0.1000.2 (Current) and installed PFG API version 1.0.458.

    After setting up everything successfully, I tried to log in my account.
    But I see an error message like one below.

    PFGSocket_OnDisconnect - Connection was terminated. (-7)
    I called PFG support and they were not be able to solve the issue.

    What is the problem?

    I use WINDOW 7 64 bit operating system.
    Of course, I run 32 bit version of NT 7.

    Thank you for your post.

    For the error message: 'Login Failed: PFGSocket_OnDisconnect - Connection Was Terminated (-7)':

    You will need to remove, repair, and recreate the connection to PFG:
    1. Go to the Tools menu--> select Account Connections--> highlight the connection--> click Remove
    2. Then go to the Tools menu--> select Options--> select the Data tab --> click Repair DB
    3. Restart NinjaTrader
    4. Go to the Tools menu--> select Account Connections and recreate the account connection.

    For your convenience, I have included this link with step-by-step instructions for re-building your connection to PFG:


    You need to also confirm that you do not have any other PFGBEST.com API clients installed on your PC (other than version 1.0.458)

    Please let me know if this does not resolve the issue.

      thanks for your support.
      Unfortunately, this doesn't solve my problem.
      Nothing changes and I still see the same error message.

      What should I do next?

        Hello jjanguda,

        Please send your Log & Trace files for the date this occurred.

        From the NinjaTrader Control Center go to Help > ‘Email to Support…’ and check the box by “Log & Trace file”

        Please also make sure to include a reference to this forum thread.

          Hello NT Support,


          I am using NT 7 ver 7.0.1000.4
          I am using PFG_API version 1.0.463.


          1) I am having the same problem as user jjanguda.
          I am not able to connect to PFGBest server.
          I always got this ERROR message:

          <PFGSocket_OnDisconnect - Connection was terminated>


          2) I have followed the solution suggested on post #2 of this thread.
          It does not work. I am still seeing the same error message.


          3) I have followed the solution suggested on post #4 of this thread.
          By emailing the Log & Trace file via NT 7 internal mail function.
          NT 7 has failed to deliver the email, due to some email socket being blocked.


          4) Please help.

            Hello Jathrop,

            Please see my response below as per the email you sent us.

            Can you please check for software such as firewalls and anti-virus software that could be blocking the PFG connection. I suggest to temporarily disable such software and check if a connection can be established. If so, please allow NinjaTrader to access the internet as per the firewall or anti-virus software you closed.

            If the issue remains, please send me your PFG connection information, so I can test it on my end.

            ◦Account number

            ◦Order server IP address and port number
            ◦Quotes server IP address and port number
            ◦Historical minute data server IP address and port number
            ◦Historical tick data server IP address and port number

              Just updating this thread

              Just updating this thread for other NINJA Trader users who may think this is useful.

              ----------------------------------------------------------

              1) I have already made the following adjustments

              1a) I disabled all Firewall .
              1b) I created a < Pass through Exception -- Unblocked > for <
              PFG_API > on Windows__Firewall.


              2) I am still having the same problem.
              I am not able to connect to PFGBest server.
              I always got this new ERROR message below:

              < Login Failed: * PFGSocket_OnDisconnect - Connection was terminated. (-7) >
              ----------------------------------------------------------

              In order to test the PFGSocket on your end
              I have sent < the PFG info + the Log & Trace file > on internal email from NT 7.
