I have 1 min data off IB but no tick data for range bars

Can IB make range bars with hist downloads when IB has no tic data?

I can only get range bar data when in an active feed, but I need range bars for backtesting and simulation of trading

I have a 1min chart type 1m, 5m and see a chart
I type 5r and only get RB for data that is incoming from IB

What gives??/

Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately Interactive Brokers does not provide historical Tick data at this time within NinjaTrader therefore Tick bars will only be built when connected. In order to populate your charts with historical TIck data you would need to connect to a data provider that provides this data.

If you are looking for a data provider only for real time and historical data I recommend using Kinetick: (Our Preferred Data Feed Service Built Specifically for NinjaTrader 7) which provides historical Tick, Minute and Daily data for Equities, Futures and Forex.
