how to change session times in NT7?

I have said this before, but everything about NT7 seems inferior to NT6.5. Here's an example: how the heck do you change the session times in NT7? With NT6.5, you just went to "chart properties" (which itself seems to have disappeared in NT7), and you go to "Data series" and "session begins" and "session ends". For love or money I can't find these settings in NT7. Where on earth are they?

Hello Tasuki,

Sorry to hear of your frustration. There are some differences between the versions, and this is definitely one of them.

In NinjaTrader 7, you'll need to select a session template from within the Data Series menu. You can access that menu by right clicking in the chart and selecting Data Series. You'll find the 'Session Template' property on the right side of the Data Series menu.

In terms of which session templates correspond with which hours, you'd want to check the Session Manager. To access that menu, click Tools > Session Manager.

Kyle, Thanks for the prompt reply. I admit that I don't understand why the programmers would complexify something like this, but I'll deal with it. This does raise an interesting question, however. I don't mean this in a facetious way, but rather as a straight question: is there anything at all in NT 7 that's better than NT 6.5? I'm sure there must be, but I can't find it. I remember some early discussions on the forum here, before NT7 came out, and I remember saying something to the effect of looking forward to this or that problem being solved when NT7 was released, but I can't recall now what those issues were. Is there any web page anywhere on Ninja's site where this issue is discussed, and problems with NT 6.5 were corrected or a list of features added with NT7?

This is indeed a great resource, and many thanks, Kyle.
What would be more helpful, to me at least, would be to prepare a side-by-side "this is how you do it in 6.5 vs. how you do it in 7.0". One of these days I may actually prepare such a document. In the meantime, I can "smoke it out of the book" with that compendium of changes you provided. Thanks again,
